Fatal Shooting In Parkrose Neighborhood

Violent crimes continues in the city of roses. In another weekend of violence there were two homicide investigations in less than 10 hours. There was an early morning shooting in Portland’s Parkrose neighborhood.

Reports of shots being fired in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Northeast 103rd Avenue just before 5 a.m. North Precinct police responded and found a man had been shot. The victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance, but died anyway.

Other people there were detained by police. Homicide detectives with Portland police are investigating this case. It’s been another violent weekend in Portland. This is the second homicide investigation for North Portland in less than 10 hours.

Another fatal shooting happened in the Lloyd District where one man was also killed. A medical examiner will determine the manner and cause of death. Across the country violent crime is an issue. Portland has hired more police officers as a result of reported crimes and the resigning of officers in the last 4 years.

If ruled a homicide, this will mark the 19th homicide for Portland in 2022, 17 of which have been people killed by gunfire.
