Clark County Superior And District Courts Suspend Jury Trials

Vancouver – Last week, Clark County District and Superior Courts made the decision to suspend jury trials for the time being due to the increase in the spread of the omicron variant of COVID-19.

According to the courts, all suspended trials will be rescheduled to a time when they can be safely conducted again.

Holding in-person jury trials brings additional groups of people into the courthouse which can contribute to the spread of the virus. The additional measure of temporarily halting jury trials is needed to protect the health of jurors, staff and other court users.

Information on District Court including the order suspending jury trials is on the county’s website at https://clark.wa.gov/district-court. Superior Court information can be found on the county website at https://clark.wa.gov/superior-court.

Clark County Public Health today reported 3,261 new COVID-19 cases in the county this week, which is twice as many reported last week. More information on case numbers is available on the Public Health website at https://clark.wa.gov/public-health/covid-19-data.
