Car Set On Fire In A Parking Lot

An arson suspect set fire to a car at a store on Beaverton Hillsdale Highway on March 6. A video was circulated online by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Two other fires also broke out within ten minutes of each other on the same Sunday morning.

The video of the incident shows a person walking up to the car with something in their hand. The car was shortly thereafter engulfed in flames. There was no one inside of the car at the time of the explosion.

The car was destroyed totalled by the fire. Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue crews were called to put out the fire.

Information released by law enforcement states that the suspect was wearing a backpack, dark hoodie, with dark pants. 

The incident happened, 911 called were placed to report a car engulfed in flames in the parking lot of the Fred Meyer on SW Beaverton Hillsdale Highway. 

The suspect may have been injured during the incident. It was reported that the subject’s hand or arm was caught on fire but the person was able to remove a burning item of clothing and walked away.
