Northwest Premier Junior Football League 12U Championship Game

In our 12U championship matchup we had the Benson Bruins vs the Seatac Sharks. This was a game of dynamic offense against gritty stonewall defense. The first quarter was all defense for both teams as the offenses drove down the field with no success. But early in the second quarter, Quiten Chandler, Jr. punched in a touchdown run from 2 yards out to put the Sharks up 8-0 after the extra point.

After a great 30-yard gain, Benson evened up the game late in the 2nd quarter.

After some stagnant offense by both teams in the third quarter, the defensive effort of the Seatac Sharks made a great effort play, as they forced and recovered a Benson Bruins fumble in the endzone to take a 16-8 lead.

With 2:15 to go, the Bruins recovered a fumble and returned it for a touchdown but it was called back for a penalty. With the ball on their 43 the Bruins were in control of their own destiny. Driving down the field with 50 seconds left, the Bruins did championship dreams came to an end as the Sharks picked off a pass at the 9-yard line to seal a 16-8 victory and the 12U championship.
