(Trice Edney Wire) – Life is hard for so many people now, but it’s important to be patient and willing to change things. Every time we turn on the news, Trump’s family or friends just got a new contract—and often from the government to which we pay taxes –but we never get a cut! We see Eric and Don, Jr. as happy as can be about taking taxpayers for another ridewhile their daddy said a short time ago, “I can do anything I want to do.” He has “wants” we’ve never seen by a president before!
His daughter is no slacker. Quite some time ago, her husband took home 2 billion dollars from Saudi Arabia. We have no idea how much more he gets from his travels as a representative of the U.S. I have no problem with qualified people earning a lot of money—but not at the expense of others who are barely making a living while the recipients who should be making life better for the least of these struggle just to own a home, buy groceries, pay for gasoline and do the simple things in life. They can save nothing for that rainy day because the rainy day has already come!
Now Trump has the nerve to get vulnerable people’s hopes up by promising $5,000 for their vote if both houses of Congress win and $500 before the election by taking it from Social Security!
Those in the know have learned Trump never keeps promises…He just says, “I can do anything I want to do.” As many promises as Trump has broken, how can people have confidence in any of his making good on his promises? Since he’s been elected many of our lives have been worse. While he’s spent billions of our tax dollars on an unnecessary war and continues to mislead people about what he will do after the election and after the war ends. He tells us he has settled 8 wars, while those who know better don’t bother to cheer because we know many had lower payments for where they live, better healthcare, less profanity by the so-called leader of our nation, who is enjoying a friendship with other nations not among our friends. Before Trump, we didn’t hear or see all the racist statements and practices from our nation’s leaders. We didn’t get embarrassed when our leaders spoke. We now see the ease with which Trump-selected leaders spread false information and so loosely use our tax dollars not to help our people but to hurt them. Many of our relatives gave their lives to protect our democracy, but now see our rights easily violated.
We never saw so many people with no skills get big breaks in life while others suffer. The jobs are now held by uncaring, unqualified, racists who deny us everything while they take big salaries, line their pockets while not even trying to do helpful jobs once held by low-paying Black or Brown people. They don’t even promise to put health care back to where President Barack Obama took us. Trumpers are killing people and wrecking countries to which President Obama had put us in a better place.
Too many people have given up hope of ever doing better, but I would urge you to hold on. Don’t throw in the towel. November 3rd is coming soon, and you have a chance to bring back the hope we once had under other Presidents. We were free to talk about our history and to have a measure of equality under our laws. President Obama gave us hope and a reasonable health care system. Many leaders listened to our needs and tried to resolve them. Not one of them ever encouraged another nation to destroy any of our cities—such as Los Angeles and San Diego!
People are tired of Trump’s corruption, so don’t throw in the towel. Vote to solve the problems on November 3rd.
