Police found a dead man Sunday night near East Burnside Street and Southeast 124th Avenue. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death. Eastbound East Burnside was closed from Southeast 122nd Avenue to Southeast 124th Avenue as officers investigated the death. The identity of the victim will also be determined by the Oregon State Medical Examiner.
Portland police fired on a man who fled a traffic stop Saturday evening in Southeast Portland and then flushed him out of his crashed car at Lents Park after a two-hour standoff. The man was loaded onto a gurney and into an ambulance around 10 p.m. Police said the man was transported to a hospital with injuries, but is expected to recover. Police spokesman Sgt. Kevin Allen said the man may have sustained a gunshot wound. Officials said the identity of the suspect will be released after he is charged. He remains in police custody at the hospital.
No officers reported being injured, police said in a statement. Brandon Keck, was shot and killed by Portland police earlier this week. He was wanted on a host of charges out of Vancouver. He also was the subject of an armed-and-dangerous alert to police.
Officers were alerted to a shooting in the 1000 block of North Anchor Way on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 6:01p.m and believe the victim was shot at that location. The victim in this homicide is identified as Keion Cordell Howard, 19, of Portland.
