In a tragic incident early Friday morning in Portland’s Hollywood District, a shooting resulted in the death of one individual and left another person injured, according to police officials. The violence erupted in a parking garage located in the 4200 block of Northeast Halsey Street at approximately 6:45 a.m., prompting a swift response from law enforcement.
Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals who had sustained gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, one victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Kevin Allen, a spokesperson for the Portland Police Bureau, confirmed that the second victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not deemed life-threatening. Snegirev at a hotel in Tigard, Oregon. The operation was carried out without incident, thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Negotiations Team and Tigard Police.
Investigators have determined that the shooting was not a random act of violence; rather, Snegirev and the two victims were known to each other, indicating a more personal motive behind the tragic event. He now faces multiple serious charges, including second-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, and unlawful use of a weapon with a firearm.
Police revealed that leads in the investigation were gathered through various means, including testimonies from witnesses present at the scene and individuals familiar with both the victims and the suspect. As the investigation continues, authorities have indicated that the identity of the deceased victim will be released following confirmation by the medical examiner and subsequent notifications to the victim’s family.
