End of Year, Beginning of New Year Retail Theft Mission Yields Multiple Arrests 

A coordinated retail theft mission led by North Precinct officers led to a recovery of stolen merchandise worth thousands of dollars in collaboration with partner agencies. It has also resulted in the apprehension of nine individuals and the recovery of a substantial amount of stolen merchandise. The operation targeted businesses in the Jantzen Beach Center and Hayden Meadows Square areas of North Portland. These proactive efforts aim to deter retail theft and combat other crimes throughout the city.

Law enforcement personnel executed a meticulously planned operation, focusing on businesses in key shopping areas notorious for retail theft incidents. The joint effort between North Precinct officers and partner agencies proved highly successful, culminating in the arrest of nine individuals involved in various acts of retail theft. The swift action taken during the mission underscores the commitment of law enforcement to safeguard local businesses and protect the community from criminal activities.

During the operation, officers were able to recover thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen merchandise. The recovered items, ranging from electronics to clothing and luxury goods, will be returned to the rightful retailers. This collaborative effort not only curtails the financial losses suffered by businesses but also sends a clear message to potential offenders that retail theft will not be tolerated.

In additionto the following, one stolen vehicle was recovered and approximately $3,000 in stolen merchandise was recovered.

– Amber J. Martinez, 33, Theft in the Third Degree

– Elliott D. Hudson, 40, Theft in the First Degree
