Deaths Of 4 Oregon Women Linked To Person Of Interest

There has been a major update to the case of a possible seriel killer in the Portland area. Multiple women were killed and bodies found in and around Portland. Recently, Oregon authorities said they’ve linked the deaths of four women. Their bodies were found in a three-month period earlier this year. It was announced last week that at least one person of interest has been linked to four of the women. They’re not calling the white male a serial killer.

At first, police said the cases didn’t appear to be connected when bodies of the four women began appearing in wooded areas in northwest Oregon back in February. But, last week prosecutors made a big statement that they have linked “at least one person of interest” to the killings. The state medical examiner hasn’t determined the cause or manner of death of any of the women.

That person of interest is identified as Jesse Calhoun who has been in law enforcement custody since June 6. He has yet to be charged in connection with the deaths of the four women. Jesse Lee Calhoun,38, has an extensive criminal history.

It was in February that the women’s bodies were found in Portland and rural areas starting. The latest one was found on May 7. One body was found about 45 miles southwest of Portland, near a creek in Polk County. The first body discovered was that of Smith, 22, in a wooded area in a suburb southeast of Portland. Smith’s disappearance was reported to police in suburban Gresham on Dec. 22, 2022.

This has been a collaborative effort by law enforcement agencies. Multnomah County District Attorney’s office in Portland announced, “Investigators and prosecutors from multiple law enforcement agencies have been working collaboratively … and they have determined that there are links between four cases: Kristin Smith, Charity Perry, Bridget Webster, and Ashley Real,” the prosecutor’s office said.
