Two Brothers Killed at Embassy Suites are Victims in Double Homicide

At the Embassy Suites near Washington Square mall, police identified two brothers as the victims of a double homicide in Tigard last week. The deceased were Andrew Randle, 37, and Gerald Randle, 38. They were shot and killed around 1:30 a.m. Friday police said.

Investigators have released no details of what may have led to the shooting. However, their last arrest may tell a story. Both men were out on bail on charges of attempted murder at the time of their deaths. Police did not say whether the recent cases were linked in any way to their deaths.

Andrew Randle had been released in November after posting 10% of his $100,000 bail. Randle plead not guilty to charges of attempted murder, assault and unlawful use of a weapon. He allegedly shot a woman in the head who he was romantically involved with. The woman survived. He also pleaded not guilty for allegedly assaulting the woman’s 12-year-old son after the shooting.

Andrew Randle had a long criminal history. He had 17 previous felonies on his record, according to the probable cause affidavit in the attempted murder case.

Gerald Randle was charged with attempted murder, assault and being a felon in possession of a gun after he and another man each shot each other in the head, both of them surviving their injuries, in March of 2020, according to court records. This happened at an apartment complex in the 3300 block of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Gerald Randle was released after posting $15,000 of his $150,000 bail in October of 2020 and was scheduled to appear at a settlement hearing for the case Wednesday.

These deaths mark the second and third homicides at that same hotel in recent years. In 2020, 61-year-old Brian Lowes was found shot to death in a room at the Embassy Suites hotel. A month later, Danielle Morin, 46, was arrested and charged with her death. She was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 25 years.

Last week’s deaths mark the first homicides in Tigard in 2022. The city has seen just six homicides in the past five years.
