Multnomah County Election Ballots Must Be Returned By 8 P.M. May 21, 2024

Multnomah County — Today is the last day to vote in the primary election.

Voted ballots must be received at any county elections office in Oregon or Official Ballot Drop Site location by 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2024, or mailed and postmarked by May 21, 2024, to be counted.

Voters can use any Official Ballot Drop Site — including most Multnomah County Library 24-hour book drops — to safely and securely deposit ballots. Find your nearest Official Ballot Drop Site at

All registered voters should have received their ballots by Thursday, May 9. Registered voters who have not received their ballots or need a replacement ballot should contact the elections office.

Multnomah County voters who need a ballot or want assistance should call Multnomah County Elections at 503-988-VOTE (8683). For in-person assistance, voters can also visit the Multnomah County Duniway-Lovejoy Elections Building in Southeast Portland (1040 S.E. Morrison St., Portland) or the Voting Center Express in Gresham (600 N.E. 8th St., Gresham), inside the Multnomah County East Building. 

Multnomah County Elections open until 8 p.m. for voter services

Multnomah County Elections will be open in Southeast Portland and Gresham until 8 p.m. on Election Day to assist voters.

Elections staff can help voters replace a lost or damaged ballot, or update their voter registration information. Voters with a disability can receive assistance. 

Voters who speak a language other than English can obtain assistance in their preferred language. Multnomah County Elections provides an interpreter free to anyone who needs help voting in a language other than English. Additional voting and elections information in 18 different languages is online at

Order Ahead Replacement Ballot Service

Multnomah County Elections offers an Order Ahead Replacement Ballot Service that allows voters to request a replacement ballot online at before visiting a voter service location to pick it up.

Voters can request a replacement ballot to pick up today at either the Multnomah County Duniway-Lovejoy Elections Building in Southeast Portland (1040 S.E. Morrison St., Portland) or the Voting Center Express in Gresham (600 N.E 8th St., Gresham), inside the Multnomah County East Building.

During business hours, a ballot can be available for pickup within two hours at whichever office location you specify.

Candidate contests for City of Portland elected offices will not appear on the May 2024 ballot.

Track your ballot 

Voters in Multnomah County can sign up for the Track Your Ballot service at to get updates on whether their ballot has been accepted for counting or whether it requires further action by the voter.

Multnomah County Elections’ Track Your Ballot service is available in multiple languages. Voters can receive ballot tracking alerts and updates in English, Spanish, Russian, Somali, Vietnamese, Ukrainian or Chinese. Voters can receive a virtual “I Voted” sticker after they return their ballots.

Multnomah County has 30 Official Ballot Drop Sites available now until 8 p.m. on Election Day where you can return your ballot. Official Ballot Drop Sites include most Multnomah County Library locations. Ballots are picked up from library locations and Official Ballot Drop Boxes on a regular schedule.
