Bronny James Looking At The Ducks

The son of the greatest player to ever play the game is looking at possibly coming to Oregon. LeBron James said Sunday that “there’s a chance” his oldest son Bronny will play at Oregon next season. The Ducks already have one of the nation’s top recruiting classes with Cook, forward Kwame Evans Jr. and West Linn point guard Jackson Shelstad.

Bronny has a short list of three schools. First there is USC. This campus is just miles from where his father plays his home games for the Lakers. Ohio State is another one and is more like hometown love. However, LeBron is one of Nike’s most recognizable athletes and Oregon is one of Nike’s most recognizable colleges.

There has been talk that one day LeBron wants to play with his son in the NBA before he retires. He also has another son that plays ball. LeBron had suggested. “I think Bronny can go to any college he wants to,” LeBron said. “All I have to do is pick up the phone,” he continued. “If Bronny says he wants to go there, he’s good enough.”James said that Bronny has not necessarily limited his options to those three schools but that they are in a “top five or six.” “Oregon, for some odd reason, has always been one of his top five or six that have been on his radar,” James said.

Bronny is also close with 5-star Oregon signee Mookie Cook, something else that could play in the Ducks’ favor. The 6-foot-3 combo guard from Los Angeles Sierra Canyon is a 4-star prospect in the Class of 2023. He’s the eighth-ranked prospect from the state of California and the 36th overall recruit in the class.

Lebron James said, “My son wants to be a pro. It’s the way you hold guys accountable, the way they play. I guess he’s seen the way they play. Dana Altman from the outside looks like a great coach. “He’s been winning for quite a while here at Oregon, so Bronny’s smart enough to see all that.”
