Portland Is Second-Best Weed City

Marijuana has been debated for decades now. A number of states have made cannabis legal for medical reasons. This require cards to indulge. Other state like Oregon has legalized pot for recreational use. This allows cities and states to cash in on cannabis. Lawmakers are using weed for tax revenue.

Colorado and Washington became the first states to legalize recreational marijuana in 2012.  A third of states now are legal to recreational users. A cannabis culture has sprung up that includes access to local hiking spots, concert venues, festivals and munchies type food.

The creation of a new list of “Best Weed Cities in the U.S.” has come about. Portland was ranked at the near tip top of best places for weed lovers by Real Estate Witch with Denver as the best city for potheads. The list also showed Portland having the second-highest number of dispensaries and the second-most affordable weed prices.

The criteria used for determining the best weed-friendly cities included the use of 2022 data to analyze marijuana laws, dispensary numbers, pot pricing, and product variety. Data was studied  using publicly available information from the U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Bureau of Economic Analysis, Google Trends, Price of Weed, DISA Global Solutions, and Yelp.
