I-5 Rose Quarter Project Survey Seeks Community Involvement

There is an important survey that solicits input from the community. The survey is open now through 8/31 and the intention is centered around how the project’s design may be best used to acknowledge and honor the displaced Albina community, showcase the history, and heritage of the area and how to best represent the Black Portland community.

The Resource Scholars Show has posted the survey on close to 10 online platforms via social media. It is titled, the Summer 2022 Rose Quarter Design Elements Online Survey #2.

The Portland Medium has reported on a bright spot within this project and that is the involvement of Raimore Construction, a Black owned company as a prime contractor. Residents are asked to take the survey and attend meetings. The Historic Albina Advisory Boar’s (HAAB) meeting for July HAAB was cancelled. The meetings will resume in August 2022. All project committee meetings are open to the public.

Residents that wish to attend a virtual meeting but cannot attend by phone or computer, or require language accommodations, are asked to  contact the project team by emailing us at [email protected] or call 503-470-3127 at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting.

Participants are invited to share comments on specific meeting agenda items in advance by emailing [email protected] with “HAAB Public Comment” or “COAC Public Comment” in the subject line calling 503-470-3127. They are asked to specify whether you are making HAAB or COAC public comment.

Comments received by 11 AM the business day before the meeting will be shared with project committee members in advance. All comments received will be added to the meeting record. You will also have an opportunity to provide comments during the meeting for up to two minutes by phone. Please see the event details below for specific meeting call-in information.
