The owner of Lee’s Discount Liquor was killed in a car accident on Friday morning. According to the company Lee’s Liquor, the crash happened late Friday morning in West Wendover near the Nevada-Utah border. Lee served as CEO of the retailer with 23 locations throughout Nevada. Lee’s father, company founder Hae Un Lee, died in late August after battling pancreatic cancer.
Mr. Lee was traveling southbound in a minivan, when “for unknown reasons” he veered into oncoming traffic, sideswiping a pickup truck, whose driver had swerved to try avoiding impact. Lee was the only occupant in the minivan. He was not wearing a seat belt. He died on scene.
Lee is survived by his wife Nami and three children (Nathan, Morgan, and Addy). Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak posted on Twitter that the Lee family was in his thoughts and prayers. “Our hearts ache again for the Lee family – Kathy and I are keeping the Lee family, friends and loved ones in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
Funeral services are in the works as the family mourns for Lee’s tragic sudden death.
