Florida Memorial University Receives $1.25 Million Grant to Improve Education of Children with Disabilities

Florida Memorial University’s School of Education was awarded a five year Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) grant in the amount of $1.25 million to improve the education of K-12 students with disabilities through its Project SIAIMESE which stands for Supporting Intensive Applications of Interventions by Minority Educators of Special Education.

With this funding, Project SIAIMESE will prepare 40 urban minority scholars to obtain a Masters in Special Education with an Endorsement in Autism Spectrum Disorders. Scholars will receive preparation to implement data-based individualization and provide support of students with persistent and severe learning and behavioral problems.
