Cannabis Commission To Meet In Portland

The Oregon Cannabis Commission’s quarterly public meeting will be held Jan. 30, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the Portland State Office Building in Conference Room 1B.

The commission consists of the state public health officer and an eight-member panel appointed by the governor and confirmed by the senate. The commission is tasked with, among other things, determining a possible framework for future governance of the Oregon Medical Marijuana program, as well as determining steps to address research on cannabis in areas of public health policy and public safety policy. The commission also advises the Oregon Health Authority and Oregon Liquor Control Commission on the statutes governing medical and retail cannabis.
